ABOUT AMERSFOORT INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL
Amersfoort International School (AIS) started in 2023 and offers English-language international primary education to children aged 4-12. The school is now in the final stages of authorisation by the International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme (IB PYP).
AIS is a Dutch International Primary School (DIPS) located near the historical centre of Amersfoort. The school shares a building with a Dutch primary school, De Kubus, and is governed by the AnnoNu school board, a group of 24 Dutch national schools in the Amersfoort region.
The school’s vision is to be a learning community based on inclusion and equal opportunities, thus empowering students to become internationally-minded and successful learners in an ever-changing world. This is reflected in the school’s mission statement, ‘Learning for All.’

Key Responsibilities:
Provide high-quality teaching and support across a range of subjects for primary school students.
Ensure that all lessons are well-planned, engaging, and tailored to meet the needs of each student, including those with English as an additional language (EAL).
Implement PYP (Primary Years Programme) or inquiry-led learning approaches, fostering curiosity and critical thinking.
Maintain a positive and inclusive classroom environment.
Collaborate with colleagues to ensure continuity in the education and welfare of students.
Be flexible and adaptable to different classroom environments and age groups.
Requirements:
Qualified Primary School Teacher (QTS or equivalent).
Experience in teaching primary-aged children.
Experience working with children who have English as an additional language (EAL).
Experience with PYP or inquiry-led learning methodologies.
Experience in an international school environment (preferred).
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to plan and deliver lessons effectively, with a focus on student engagement.
Flexibility and a positive attitude towards working in different year groups.
