About the job

Amersfoort International School is looking for a Teaching Assistant for 0.6 fte. In this role, you support classroom teachers in delivering the IB PYP curriculum across a range of subjects and learning activities. You work closely with teachers to help create engaging lessons that meet the diverse needs of our pupils.

You provide individualised support to students, including children with special educational needs (SEN) and students learning English as a second language (ESL). You contribute to a positive, inclusive classroom climate and support both the academic and personal development of pupils, helping them reach their full potential. In addition, you take part in school events, meetings and professional development activities.

Who are we looking for?

  • You are fluent in English, with proficiency in Dutch and additional languages as an advantage.

  • You have relevant qualifications in education or a related field.

  • You have experience working with primary‑aged children, preferably in an international setting.

  • You have experience supporting second language learners and students with special educational needs (SEN).

  • You understand, or are willing to learn about, the IB PYP framework.

  • You communicate clearly and work effectively with pupils, parents and colleagues.

  • You take a collaborative and flexible approach to working within a team.
